APS Communications launches ‘Talk Up APS’ online

The Atlanta Public Schools’ Communications Office is happy to announce our new, online version of the district newsletter, Talk Up APS, where we share the latest good news that’s happening at our district office, around the schools and in the community.

Whereas the previous, printed version of the district newsletter was solely a twice-monthly edition, emailed to the APS community as an attachment, this version will be updated on an hourly basis to keep everyone informed in real time on what’s happening. We will still publish the print version of Talk Up APS and send it out as an email every other Monday, much of it reconstituted from this online version but with the occasional new or different content.

We’d also like to take this opportunity to remind you about our other publications, the seasonal Atlanta Educator and Family Matters, as well as our monthly TV show “APS Today” hosted by Nwandi Lawson on PBA 30. We’ll keep you updated on when and how to look for these communications vehicles.

We’ve also launched social-networking initiatives with Twitter, and encourage you to follow us there. Visit http://www.twitter.com, create an account, and follow “apsupdate” for quick, up-to-date APS-related information. Everyone’s invited. And as always, visit our district Web site, www.atlantapublicschools.us.

For questions, comments and story ideas, contact David Lee Simmons in the Communications Office at dsimmons@atlanta.k12.ga.us or call (404) 802-2849.

Follow APS and see how we’re making a difference in the lives of our students!
