APS rings in the new year with new facilities

It’s a chilly start to the winter semester for APS students, some of which will begin 2010 in fresh new digs. The following schools returned to new or annex facilities: Sarah Smith Intermediate (row 1), W.T. Jackson and Brandon Primary, Dunbar Elementary (row 2), Young Middle and Coretta Scott King Young Women’s Leadership Academy (row 3). Therrell Educational Complex also unveiled plans for a $36 million campus upgrade scheduled for completion during the 2010-11 school year.

I really don’t understand how APS calls themselves the best when it four weeks to get students enrolled in schools, a month and a half to level students classes, and ruins kids attendance when the weather is inclimate. If all the schools around Atlanta are closed so should our childrens. Not because it’s fair, but because we have students, and faculty members who are driving in hazardous conditions. Some of them have quite a far commute.
