Atlanta Board of Education appoints new Ethics Commission members

ATLANTA – The Atlanta Board of Education at its September 12, 2011 meeting appointed new members to the Ethics Commission.  The new members were nominated by organizations selected by the Board. Their 5-year terms begin immediately.

          The appointments include: Edith Richardson (Atlanta Council of PTAs), Stephen Paul Cummings, II Esq. (The Atlanta Bar Association), Fred Masci (The Institute of Internal Auditors – Atlanta Chapter), Dr. Rebecca D. Pentz (Center for Ethics at Emory University), Dr. Joy Berry (Georgia School Boards Association), and Sam Woodhouse, Esq. (The Gate City Bar Association).  A seventh commission member will be appointed in the near future.

          The Ethics Commission investigates complaints filed pursuant to the Board Member Code of Ethics and Board Member Conflict of Interest policies.
