SPECIAL LEGISLATIVE BOARD MEETING NOTICE*
On Monday, December 10, 2012 at 3:00 pm, the Atlanta Board of Education will convene a Special Legislative Meeting.
The Board is convening this meeting for purpose of taking action on:
Discussion and Action:
Item 1.01 – Report #12/13-0108 –
A resolution that urges Congress and the Administration to mitigate the across-the-board cuts to education that are scheduled to occur January 2, 2013.
Item 1.02 –
Refer to the Board’s Policy Committee, a revision to Policy BBD Board and Superintendent Relations, to include specific language addressing advance communications of significant district-wide or local decisions, events, and activities.
Item 1.03 –
Refer to the Board’s Policy Committee a discussion and policy revision to the Board’s voting requirements; specifically referring to the hiring a superintendent.
Item 1.04 –
Consideration to Extend the Superintendent’s contract.
During Special Legislative meeting the board will allot up to 30 minutes for stakeholder comments on any of the agenda item. Each stakeholder will be given 3 minutes to address a specific agenda items. Please contact the board office at least one hour prior to the start of the meeting to sign up. 404.802.2200.
*The Board may enter into an executive session before after or during this meeting to review an appeal from a Student Disciplinary Tribunal [or use one of these names as applicable, Hearing Officer, Panel]; (O.C.G.A. § 20-2-757).
To discuss or deliberate upon the appointment, employment, compensation, hiring, disciplinary action or dismissal, or periodic evaluation or rating of a public officer or employee (O.C.G.A. § 50-14-3(b)(2)).
And any other topic that is appropriate for an executive session consistent with the
O.C.G.A
*The Board may take action on ANY item that has been discussed in executive session. Said action will occur in a public setting.
