Valedictorian of Frederick Douglass Darryl Terry, Jr. plans to attend Morehouse College


Darryl Terry, Jr. has excelled as a leader throughout his community being selected as Fulton County Youth Commission Rookie of the Year 2013. He is privileged to have served as a Maynard Jackson Youth Foundation Leader, Fulton County Global Youth Leadership Program Ambassador, Ben Carson Scholar, Emory Confucius Institute Chinese Bridge participant, APS Information Technology Intern and the 2013 Governors Honors Program Scholar in the field of Technology. Furthermore, he is actively involved in numerous organizations such as the APS Superintendent Student Council, Student Government Association, Concert and Symphonic Bands, Polaris Yearbook and Northstar Newspaper Staff. He has played varsity football, baseball, golf and track & field. Darryl has amassed over 1.4 million dollars in scholarships and his proudest achievement was the creation of the Kids in Need of Guidance (K.I.N.G.) Academy mentor program. He is inspired by his mentors Dr. Eldrick Horton, Councilman Michael Julian Bond and Byron Amos.

Plans to Attend: Morehouse College

Major: Double Major Political Science and Education and Minor in English

Career Goal: Attorney and Politician
