APS Inclusive Schools Week : Meet Champion of Inclusion Holly Barbour

Atlanta Public Schools (APS) salutes Adapted Art Teacher Holly Barbour, as a 2016 Champion of Inclusion!

Holly Barbour is an Adapted Art Teacher who received the 2016 Croy West Special Needs Art Educator of the Year Award. The award was given by the Georgia Art Education Association during their annual conference in August. The Croy West Special Needs Art Educator of the Year Award recognizes an NAEA member who has made distinguished professional contributions to art education for students with special needs through scholarly writing, research, professional leadership, teaching and or community service.

Atlanta Public Schools (APS) joins school districts and communities around the world in celebrating Inclusive Schools Week (ISW) December 5-9, with events and activities in classrooms, schools and communities to raise awareness of educational practices that reach students with disabilities or have diverse backgrounds. This year’s theme is “Champions of Inclusion: POWerful Things Happen in Inclusive Schools.”
