Atlanta Public Schools salutes Hollis Innovation Academy Parent Nicole Riggins, as a 2016 Champion of Inclusion!
Nicole Riggins is CEO of Shooting Starz Recreation Program for students with disabilities. Her daughter is a student at Hollis Innovation Academy and is a member of the Shooting Starz Cheerleading Team. This parent-lead athletic program for special needs children focuses on children growing through having fun. The cheerleading team competes annually throughout the South and will travel to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida to participate in the Grand Championship in Spring 2017. Ms. Riggins also serves as a member of the Hollis GO Team.
Thank you Nicole Riggins for providing opportunities of athleticism and recreation to special needs children who aspire to show spirit through cheerleading.
Atlanta Public Schools (APS) joins school districts and communities around the world in celebrating Inclusive Schools Week (ISW) December 5-9, with events and activities in classrooms, schools and communities to raise awareness of educational practices that reach students with disabilities or have diverse backgrounds. This year’s theme is “Champions of Inclusion: POWerful Things Happen in Inclusive Schools.”
