APS Reads Across America

Pre-K scholars at Deerwood Academy dress up as Things and Dr. Seuss for Read Across America, a celebration of reading in honor of Dr. Seuss.

“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.”
― Dr. Seuss, I Can Read With My Eyes Shut!

National Education Association (NEA)’s Read Across America is an annual reading motivation and awareness program that calls for every child in every community to celebrate reading on March 2, the birthday of beloved children’s author Dr. Seuss.

APS celebrated #ReadAcrossAmerica all week long with culminating activities on Friday, March 1. The Office of Nutrition served green eggs and ham for breakfast, and CLL staff members of the newly formed Central Office Reading Enthusiasts (C.O.R.E.) signed up to read to students at select schools.
