Atlanta Public Schools will host four community meetings to garner feedback on the district’s proposed $850 million budget for the 2019-2020 school year.
At each meeting, APS Chief Financial Officer Lisa Bracken and her team will explain the district’s budget building process and discuss key aspects of the proposed spending plan for next school year. Additionally, the meetings are an opportunity for community stakeholders and staff to learn more about how the proposed budget impacts salaries for our teachers and other certified staffers.
Meeting attendees are invited to ask questions and give feedback during the hour-long meetings. Here is the schedule (all meetings are from 6-7 p.m.):
- Thursday, May 9 at Inman Middle School (774 Virginia Avenue, NE)
- Monday, May 13 at Benteen Elementary School (200 Cassanova Street, SE)
- Thursday, May 16 at E. Rivers Elementary School (8 Peachtree Battle Avenue, NW)
- Monday, May 20 at B.E.S.T. Academy/Coretta Scott King Young Women’s Leadership Academy (1190 Northwest Drive, NE)
The Atlanta Board of Education will vote on adopting the proposed budget on Monday, June 3.
