It was at Carver High School where 17-year-old Mekenzi Banks found her passion for medicine. A former Las Vegas resident, Mekenzi moved to Atlanta during her freshman year of high school. She believes that if she did not transfer to Carver, she would not have changed her mindset about school. Read more.
Zarandae Jenkins says graduating from high school is by far his greatest accomplishment. Growing up in a single parent household, Zarandae couldn’t be a regular kid. He had responsibilities and found himself involved with the wrong crowds, where violence and drugs were abundant. Read more.
