At A Glance: North Atlanta High School

North Atlanta High School will hold commencement exercises on May 24, 7:00 p.m. at Georgia Institute of Technology’s McCamish Pavilion. Principal Curtis Douglass and the entire Warriors family have plenty to brag about: 437 graduates, garnering nearly $30 million in scholarships!

Clarke Peoples, student body president, is one of three APS scholars selected from a pool of over 36,500 applicants from across the nation to receive the prestigious Gates Scholarship, and STAR student Jake Churchill received a perfect score on the SAT! North Atlanta scholars are soaring and are college and career ready!

For as long as she can remember, Clarke Peoples has dreamed of marrying her passion for criminal justice with her desire to become an attorney. Focused and resolute throughout her academic journey, the North Atlanta High School senior and scholar never wavered and endeavored to pursue her dream. Clarke’s hard work and commitment to academic excellence has paid off. In addition to being a recipient of the prestigious Gates Scholarship, Clarke is among the top 10 seniors in her class. She will graduate in the Top 10 percent of her class and with an International Baccalaureate seal on her diploma. Read more.

Academics and music are two of Devon Gates’ biggest passions in life. A jazz bassist and vocalist, the North Atlanta High School senior is headed to Harvard University in the fall, where she will enroll in a dual degree program with the Berklee College of Music. Read more.

Over the past four years, North Atlanta High School senior Fraser Pearson has amassed an impressive list of accolades and accomplishments. In addition to serving in the North Atlanta High School Army JROTC, Fraser has worked as a lifeguard and YMCA summer counselor, earned his Eagle Scout award, and logged over 250 community service hours – all while achieving the prestigious Legion of Valor Bronze Cross award and maintaining an A average in school. Despite the obstacles and challenges she’s faced in life, Sonia Heredia is determined to keep fighting. Motivated by her school counselor and academic advisers, Sonia received the support she needed, and is now headed to Delaware State University this fall on a full academic scholarship. Read more.
