Best-selling children’s author Eric Litwin brought music and literacy together during a special assembly at the Sarah Smith Elementary School Primary Campus on Nov. 6.
Thanks to the efforts of the Sarah Smith Parent Teacher Organization and Prissy Stewart, media specialist at the primary campus, Litwin performed for over 480 students in grades K-2 during two rowdy sessions full of rocking, rolling, singing and dancing. The students and teachers were treated to animated storytelling at its best!
A popular, No. 1 New York Times best-selling author, Litwin has a passion for literature and a love for education that stems from his days in the classroom. He is the original author of the “Pete the Cat” series, as well as “The Nuts” and “Groovy Joe.”
Litwin’s books have sold over 12.5 million copies, been translated into 17 languages, and won 26 literacy awards, including a Theodor Geisel Seuss Honor Award.
