Michael R. Hollis Innovation Academy Principal, Dr. Diamond Ford, Receives National Leadership Award from EL Education

Michael R. Hollis Innovation Academy Principal Dr. Diamond Ford has been selected as the 2020 EL Education Silverberg Leadership Award winner. 

The Silverberg Leadership Award is given to a school leader who has successfully impacted student achievement outcomes through a deep implementation of EL Education practices, inspiring teachers, administrative staff, and students to embrace EL Education culture and to lead students to a superior education, enhanced character development, and sense of civic responsibility. The award comes with a $5,000 cash prize.

The following description was provided about Dr. Ford in her nomination packet: “Dr. Ford is a dynamic, passionate leader, with an innate ability to build a culture that reflects high expectations, inclusivity, teamwork, and joy for students, staff, and stakeholders. Under Dr. Ford’s leadership, Hollis has developed a strong, consistent, and innovative partnerships program that supports the overall mission and vision of the school.”

Dr. Ford says she is excited and honored.

“This is a huge honor to be recognized for the national Silverberg Leadership Award,” said Dr. Ford. “It’s amazing. I’m humbled that my colleagues from around the country believe the work we’ve done at Hollis Innovation Academy is making a significant impact in the lives of our families.”

Ford will accept her award and deliver a speech at What Matters Most, the EL Education 2020 Virtual Summit on October 22.
