Jean Childs Young Middle School spread holiday cheer for all 875 students and staff members, thanks to partners at Accenture, United Way and Operation Feed.
“Accenture partnered with us to provide handwritten thank-you notes to all of our staff for their continued amazing work throughout the pandemic,” said Principal Kara Stimpson. “They also adopted our school for their company-wide gift giving campaign, ordering gifts from our Amazon wish list so that we could provide a holiday gift to every student who came to our drive-up giveaway.”
Students received jewelry making kits, art kits, soccer balls, basketballs, skateboards, Legos, terrariums, and more.
United Way also supported in a big way by providing backpacks stuffed with books, snacks, and a game for every single student.
Operation Feed delivered 450 15-lb bags of food to provide to each family who drove through on Dec. 16 or Dec. 17.
“Our leadership team enjoyed braving the rain and cold delivering holiday cheer to our Young Middle School community,” Stimpson said.

The cheer continued on Dec.16 with Young’s Fine Arts Department’s Virtual Winter Program, held Dec. 16 via Facebook and Instagram. The half-hour program showcased visual arts, musical selections, commercials and performances.
