According to the Official Code of Georgia, the Atlanta Board of Education, by majority vote will select a qualified person to fill the vacancy as Education District Two (2) representative until a permanent candidate is elected at the November 2011 Special Election.

About District Two
District 2 is located in the south central part of the City and is identical to City Council Districts Three and Four. District 2 includes the Atlanta University Center and the Bankhead Highway and Hightower road areas.
