Tech High School has been awarded a $4,500 Mini Grant for Professional Development by the Ford Motor Company Fund.
This grant will allow the technology based APS charter school to cover the cost of training teachers, providing them access to the Ford Partnership for Advanced Studies curriculum resources that integrate rigorous academic standards with real-world learning and 21st century workplace skills.  Â
About Tech High: Tech High School, established in 2004, is a public charter high school located in Atlanta. Tech High is designed for young men and women who are serious about their future. To ensure these students succeed, we are committed to strong partnerships with our students, staff, parents, and the metropolitan Atlanta community.  “Our committment is to have 10 – 15 teachers attend the Professional Department Workshop this fall for two days in Atlanta and attend the one day follow-up workshop that Tech High will host on campus; to be willing to partner with a local Ford dealership and local business partner; and to have key school leaders attend a one day planning event this winter,” said Steven Walker, CEO of Tech High School. “This is a great opportunity for us to provide valuable Professional Development for our teachers that is central to our school mission. Also, the Ford philosophy is closely aligned with the common tenets of STEM curriculum.”
