Belita Hamilton is a native of Atlanta. After graduating from Fickett Elementary School, Bunche Middle School, and Mays High School, she decided that her goal in life was to become an athletic trainer. This led her to pursue a bachelor of science in education with an emphasis in sports medicine from the University of Georgia. After working with college football and basketball teams, Hamilton began tutoring with the Sickle Cell Anemia Foundation. After some self-reflection, she decided to pursue her new found love for teaching. Hamilton attended Brenau University, where she became certified in the field of mathematics and science. In 2003, she became a faculty member of Brown Middle School. Since that time, Hamilton has earned a master’s degree in technology integration from NOVA Southeastern University and is currently pursuing an educational doctorate in teacher leadership from Walden University.
