The Maynard H. Jackson girls won the girl’s division of this year’s Atlanta Track Classic, also known as the Atlanta Public Schools Championships, while Henry W. Grady won the boys division. Last season, the Jackson girls won the Georgia High Schools Association Class AAA state title.

Maynard H. Jackson and Henry W. Grady took home the girls and boys titles, respectively, at the annual Atlanta Track Classic, also known as the Atlanta Public Schools Track and Field Championships. The meet began Saturday and ended with finals on Monday at Lakewood Stadium.
Jackson, the defending Georgia High Schools Association Class AAA champion, held off Benjamin E. Mays (176 points to 162.50) for the Lady Jaguars’ third APS Championships title in a row. Grady (91), Carver (84.50) and North Atlanta (46) rounded out the top five. It is the third consecutive Atlanta Track Classic win for Jackson.
The Grady boys dominated, outscoring second-place North Atlanta, 156-91, with Mays (86), Frederick Douglass (48) and Booker T. Washington (46) following behind. The win was Grady’s fifth out of the last six Atlanta Track Classics.
The Lady Jaguars were led by Ryah Jackson (first in the 100-meter hurdles, third in the 300-meter hurdles), Taryn O’Neal (first in the triple jump, second in the 400 meters), Camille Sims (first in the discus, second in the shot put) and its 400-meter relay team (first). Mays was led by Kamaya Street (first in the 400 meters, 300-meter hurdles and high jump).
Grady was led by Christian McNair-Jones (first in the 110-meter and 300-meter hurdles and the long jump), Babakarr Randall (first in the 100 and 200 meters), Aidan Goldston (first in the 3,200 meters, second in the 1,600 meters), Kaughlin Caver (first in the pole vault) and its first-place 1,600-meter relay team.
In the middle school division, the Sutton girls (114 points) won the title by outscoring Inman (75), Crawford Long (43), Ralph Bunche (40) and Jean Childs Young (32). The KIPP Vision boys (49) edged Young (44.50), Sutton (43), Inman (40) and Long (38) for the win.
