Long-time North Atlanta High School Principal Mark Mygrant will return to lead the school on an interim basis, as the search continues for a new leader.
Mygrant will formally retire this month, but will return a month after his retirement to lead preparations for the start of classes for the new school year on August 6, as well as continue plans for the relocation of the school’s students, faculty and staff to their new location, scheduled for the start of the 2013-14 school year. Tentative plans are for Mygrant to return as principal for three months, after which a new principal is expected to be hired.
The search for a new leader for North Atlanta High School will continue to include participation by parents and members of the local community. APS officials are hopeful the process will be concluded by late summer.

@JR The LSC was heavily involved in the process. 6 LSC members from the school and a feeder school, along with the PTA President all confirmed attendance for the principal interview panel which was held recently. Since this is a personnel matter, we will need to wait for Curriculum and Instruction to release any information regarding where they stand in the process. Hope this helps!
Thanks. Is the list of candidates available, or just an update on the process. Is there a short-list and APS is continuing to look for more qualified and stellar candidates? Is Jackson going to get an interim too, while the search continues? Anything that can be shared would be greatly appreciated.
Maybe a better question is if the Local School Council is involved in this process…? Thanks, as always!
@JR – Nothing to report at this time. Curriculum and Instruction will announce as soon as a decision has been made.
Any status / update with the national search for the Jackson High principal? Thanks!
