“In every child there is the potential for excellence.”- Brian Jordan

Brian Jordan, a former All-Star Atlanta Braves and All-Pro Atlanta Falcons player, visited Paul L. Dunbar Elementary School, Tuesday March 8, and was greeted enthusiastically by third and fourth grade students.
A philanthropist and avid proponent of education, Jordan talked openly with Dunbar students about the wonderful opportunities there are in life, despite any challenges they may encounter. He read excerpts from each of his new books, Overcoming the Fear of the Baseball and Time-out for Bullies, and encouraged the students to work hard as they reach for their goals and dreams. Through his foundation, he also donated 150 of his new children’s books to Dunbar.
“We’re delighted that Mr. Jordan would come by and speak to our kids; this was a real treat,” said Karen Brown-Collier, principal of Dunbar. “For our students to learn, first-hand, about all of his [Brian’s] great exploits in sports and in life will certainly make a positive impression on our students, well into the future.”
